For over two years, Western universities have been epistemically and materially complicit in the ongoing genocide and scholasticide in Gaza. The same institutions have silenced criticism of Israel in unprecedented ways, raising concerns about the status of academic freedom in the West. In light of these developments, it has become imperative to critically assess the rise of repression in the academic field, and to ask: What is the responsibility of academics in times of genocide?
